Dear ISTP members,
As we approach our next meeting, we are delighted to announce the publication of the third volume of IRTP (International Review of Theoretical Psychologies), featuring papers stemming from our last conference, held in Belgrade in 2024: https://tidsskrift.dk/irtp/index.
The theme of the special issue is, as was the conference, “Theory as Engagement” — we invited contributors to consider theorizing as a necessary practice precisely at times when the world is complex, unsettled, and demanding our attention. Twenty-two papers are gathered in this special issue, which we believe has become a fruitful and stimulating elaboration of many of the discussions initiated in Belgrade two years ago. The contributions cover a wide range of topics — from reclaiming the theoretical foundations of psychology, through analyses of lived meaning and subjectivity, to theorizing institutions, culture, and the challenges of contemporary society.
We would like to warmly thank all contributors for their thoughtful and inspiring submissions, as well as Ernst Schraube, Paul Stenner, and Ana Đorđević for their invaluable help with reviewing the manuscripts. We are also deeply grateful to Isidora Popović and Michael Arfken for their editorial support and help throughout the lengthy production process.
We hope you will enjoy reading this third volume of IRTP, and we look forward to continuing our discussions on “theorizing in dark times” soon in New York.
Best regards,
Biljana Stanković, Oliver Pedersen and Tania Zittoun
